Hello, as we all know, trucks are expensive and become an investment. Making sure we secure our trucks in anyway is not often talked about here. So, can we start.

What products, modifications, security components and even services do you purchase to help prevent theft, damage, and malicious actions under your hood and around the truck?

Please include the truck type so others of the same truck can think about doing the same.

    Thanks

Good insurance coverage. And an alarm. Oh and a .45 cal usually works good. Havent had any issues though or close calls. Have had some clowns on camera steal batteries and fuel out of trucks but thats about it.

About the best thing you can use is a gps tracking system with a geo fence. That way it will alert you while the theft is in progress. The chances of recovery are much greater.

I kept the severed head of the last jackwagon to tried to lightfinger my stuff. When I park, I hang the head off my hood ornament. Actually need a new jackwagin to try, the last jackwagon's head is starting to look pretty seedy.

    I drive a Mack.

    105 lb Rotti.

Even at home in my pick up truck,.. no one comes near her. What they dont know is that unless they hurt me they have nothing to worry about,.. she would probably lick them silly while they robbed my truck.

Actually believe this or not,.. but its not the pretty KW and Pete show trucks that are stolen most. Its the trucks with the most demand for parts. Hundreds of thousands of Freightliners out there and just like ugly old Honda Civics that have no real street value,. they are some of the most stolen vehicles out there. Why? Strictly for the parts. Thats where the money is.

A clean used hood for a Columbia can fetch $1500 - $2000 all day long.

I leave the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. If they want it they can have it. Locks only keep honest people out.
