Taking a load out of the yard going to Glendale, AZ.

The bills give the address as 50232 W Colter St.

Put that into my GPS. Then put the same into Google Maps. Turns out 50232 W Colter St. is in a residential neighborhood.

Googled the company. Turns out the address on the BOL has an extra 2 in it, their address is actually 5032 W Colter St.

Google is your friend! I use it often to get a birds eye view of a shipper or receiver.
It helps too if you plan on parking there over night!

I'll use it to find address when copilot don't have it. Or to find the business. And for traffic.

I've also found another free gps app. Called HERE maps. Downloads 5 gigs of map and does traffic for free. But if anyone wants to download and try it. Go in to your settings first and select memory card. RESTART the app. And download the map. it'll download to card instead of internal memory.

might come in handy for those times when there's no signal for google. And whatever other times that may pop up. So far, worked like a champ along side google and copilot.

ONE ADVANTAGE A TABLET OR PHONE HAS OVER A HAND UNIT. Can run multiple gps apps.

^^^^^ it's usually dinner time by the time i'm loaded and ready to leave. I'll take a nap first and let the traffic die down before leaving. I get to hisperia at the same time i do if i leave and fight the traffic. And i'll use the google for the fastest routing out of dodge.

Course, those days will be coming to an end when elogs come onboard.

Google maps has become my best friend. I look at every pick up or delivery place. Sometimes it may be one dock off street parking and GPS might take me to do a blind side, or it may take me to the employee parking while shipping and receiving are 2 turns away.

Most importantly: over night parking. I hate sleeping at truckstops and rest areas. I like to wake up, start planning my day for the next load while I'm getting empty. By the lunch time I am loaded after a meal and a nap if possible, then rock and roll hoping the next place has over night parking.

A quick phone call to the receiver will give you all the info very quickly.
