Looking at a International truck with a Cummins ISM at the Penske location in Mebane. I went and looked at the truck last week to purchase it but the truck wouldn't idle right and had a bad vibration at 45 mph in the right front wheel. Was told it ran good and went down the road good so I made the 8 hour drive to go look at it and take it home. Needless to say I walked away from it because I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong with it. The front end doesn't bother me too much but the engine is something I'd like checked out. I can get the truck priced right but would like to know if it's a major issue. This wasn't in Penske's lease as they took it in on trade so there's no history on the truck. Anyone know anyone? They'd probably have to have Cummins insight to diagnose.

It sounds like maybe you're not looking for a Cummins shop but there's a Cummins-Atlantic shop in Greensboro about 30 miles west of Mebane, NC at Exit 220 on I-40/85.

I think I found that shop when I did a search of cummins dealers. Around here, they really don't like to travel and when they do it's a fortune. I'm hoping to find a mobile mechanic or a shop close by that will look at the truck. I'm in Ohio so I can't take the truck to the shop and it doesn't have any plates on it.
