Most drivers are not aware they are getting ripped off. Companies are trained in skimming. If you don't catch it, ooops on you.

I had 3 companies over the years do the same thing. They would do things like pay the first or biggest lumper fee and conveniently loose the other receipts. Forget to pay "bump" fees etc.

It takes a wife, girl friend or Mom to help stop this. You have to duplicate copy everything. You can fit 3-6 lumper receipts or toll receipts on one 8-1/2 X 11 paper. When the check came with the payout sheets, my wife had to go over everything with a fine comb. She would mail everything not paid to the terminal payroll lady. It took almost a year for them to get the message they weren't going to get away with it and stopped "loosing" my receipts. She never stopped looking. Every 3 or 4 months there would be a little $10 thing no paid, but for the most part the BS stopped.

With any kind of paperwork like bills drivers should keep a copy for their personal records incase your company doesn't have proof same with receipts tolls scales ect.

That goes across every industry. Not just trucking. The larger the company, the more of a stickler they are on things.

Starting A thread? More like 50 threads all about the same thing....someone is always beating him down. It gets old. Quit already. We all deal with it. Sheesh.

I lost a BOL once. Right after I got it signed,.. I went to put it back on my clip board,.. it was crazy windy,.. and a gust of wind grabbed it and took it 200ft skyward, never to be seen again. My guess its somewhere with Apollo 7 space junk by now.

It did not stop me from getting paid,.. but certainly did delay the process.

This is what baffles me about the trucking side of the transportation industry. I spent three decades sourcing production overseas. Back in the '80's we required actual paper copies to clear customs and to get paid. By 2000 US Customs started taking pdf files on email attachments. After that I never had paper files.

The only issues I had was with the broker I used for domestic trucking. She HAD to have fax or hard copies. Come to find out the real reason for that was she was CLUELESS how to send or receive pdf attachments. No other reason.

A pdf file is a legal document. That's pretty much what Transfo is anyway. Brokers need to stop using smoke signals and get with the times.
