    Mookie
There's a lot of haters on the forum- company drivers with a low i.q.
I would if I was you have 6 truck payments in the bank as a back up
And another 10k for repairs. I think lone mtn has a warranty program.
I'd try Landstar as an BCO as well.
Talk to Hurst he is an o/o and Chinatown has a lot of knowledge.

They don't need it typed out, it's just a conversation about your plan for income and maintenance.
It's just designed to see if you have a clue about what you are getting into to, good luck.

They may want to see a contract between you and whoever is going to be paying you to work the truck you are asking to finance. If you have paperwork from the company showing average gross pay to owner operators that will help you huge when asking for financing.

I would mookie that's just me get me pre egr truck. It will be less expensive to maintain if ( there in is the $$$ if) it was taken care of. I've been blessed with the mechanics to repair engines. I have 3 (97 98 99 ) two detroit series 60 & cat 3406e. I've rebuilt one getting ready to do the other detroit. The cat was already done when I bought it. I was in freightliner the other day asked shop manager about the new engines. He said on the o/o side it can be very expensive and downtime just to figure out the problems because of the electronics. I have no plans to go to California so until they say otherwise we are going to keep riding. I would also do what is best for your business. There are plenty of trucks out there get the truck and payments that are right for you. I hope you are successful in your business.

Mookie- Are you going to be leased to a trucking company or have your own authority with what equipment?

I don,t know how guys that have truck payments are making it right now with freight so cheap.

An old healthy truck that is paid for still costs you a minimum of 60 cpm With maintenance And fuel and permits.

It's not that difficult depending on the individual situation, low household bills, wife with high income and great bennies.
A $2500 note, $30000 a year, comes out to a daily rate of $107 a day based on 280 days of work, still allows almost 3 months off.
Just my thoughts, definitely not for everyone.

I'm in the same spot as the O.P. but want say I'd look at a glider if your set on buying "new" I am in a 13 pete 389. In the last 2 months I've lost atleast 5 work days and the last one I sat for 12hrs. All dpf, egr def issues. Failure to regen. Dpf clogged and injector issues starting now. Its a paccar mx13 and I think an old farmer I worked for that had a binder with a hopped up 3406b would walk circles around this truck...

And any shop time is min. 2k... from what my boss has told me
