Yeah basically after your lease is up, you can either decide to buy the truck for like another 20k or something, or you can start a new lease. A lot of drivers say its better to start a new lease.

So the 20k has to be paid in full or will they take payments and also I'm assuming since you'll own the truck you'll get more than 71% of the load?
-
I appreciate your help!

It's a pay in full at the end of the contract, and yes you get 77%runhard Thanks this.

Yeah, and he is a trainer, so if your a solo driver divide that by 50%, so now your down to what 2500 per week, before your lease payment of around 1200 per week. Don't get me wrong guys, you can make decent money leasing a truck, BUT there is a reason ALOT of these drivers train TNT and that is to make decent money. GO COMPANY for awhile learn the ropes of it all then run the numbers, over 75% of the L/O fail due to lack of revenue. Also, BEFORE you lease and are considering it, get a copy of the lease and go over it with a fine tooth comb. Also keep in mind, if you take some time off (we will say 3 days a month) your lease is still due. Just a word of warning, don;t drink the kool aid and think every thing is rosy. You can make almost the same money being a company driver with less hassle.firemedic2816, BigSky, runhard and 2 others Thank this.

I wasn't going to dive right into leasing. I planned on going company for a few months and if leasing makes sense I'd give it a shot. Thanks for your advice though

I understand where your coming from. I kind of see the trainers game where they run teams to make more money but me and my trainer never ran teams we ran together and slept together.
He still was around 4-5k at the end of the week. They gave a us more than enough time to complete the loads. I seen a 3000 load and 1200 load on the week the snow hit. No team driving. So im not sure man but ill be sure to give you guys an update once i get in motion.BigSky and Highway101 Thank this. -
What's the average weekly miles that a company tanker driver at Prime would run? I know some weeks are good, some aren't, just looking for an estimate. I'm based out of the Northeast.

Around 2000, sometimes they have you sitting on friday and saturday in the tanker division.Mik750 Thanks this.

You're paid to sit without a load? And how about detention?
