Some people think we hate the east coast because of the traffic. The first time you pay over $400 in tolls for a load that really wasn't worth to begin with will sour anyone on that entire seaboard lol.

That sums it up right there, and why I don't want to run the East. Because of family situation I'm running a local gig, Monday thru Sat. paid holidays, ect, we slip seat on the day cabs, but the road guys are gettiing assigned late model Volvo 770's and new 780's all with the I-shift tranny in them, APU's, refrigerators, ect.

Driver do yourself a favor and read the thread, all your questions are answered there, as far as Mr. Pete, I don't believe he is with Eagle any longer.

Not sure if you're inclined to believe me, but that's not true.

We are moving though, which is kind of neat and also kind of not neat. (My opinion, mainly not neat. Who wants to uproot and move ya know?)

Any Ops. Mgr. worth his/her salt should be able to get the broker to help out with those tolls. A lot of customer loads will come with toll reimbursements to cover some of the tolls.

Tolls are such a cruel tax that will eat anyone not paying attention alive.

    This is really solid advice.

Any leasing company that offers a no money down, no credit check lease is going to be giving out the worst rates on the market. They have to to recoup their losses from the large numbers of drivers that will incur debt and then flame out, sticking them with the bill.

If you're profitable and capable, the best thing to do is get a truck through a "normal" loan. The rates are much better and it helps quite a bit. The most obvious downside is that fact that banks are typically not into offering "walk away" leases, so having that business fail comes at a much higher cost.
