Tanks rate is pretty much higher than any other with the exception of oversize loads

Every gas hauler seems to be in the same boat and none seem to be able to get drivers around here. 18 yrs of doing this, I've never seen it like this.

I think it would have bee appropriate to tell them that they were excessively full of crap. 19 cents per mile into $75K = 394,700 miles per year. I dare say that a team would be hard pressed to match that kind of mileage, even if they stayed out all year never going home.

Hang in there. Ask the guys that are making the big dollars to see how your record will pay. It's always the top payer. Don't let some idiots tell you different.

Extremely interesting thread, full of information. I'm curious to find out this "temperament" quality companies look for. My assumption would be, patience, methodology and precision, and of course knowledge of what you are hauling. When it comes to work ethics, a person has it or doesn't. No amount of training can teach you work ethics. And last I would think, a sense of pride of trying to be the best at what you do. Any input would be much appreciated for one that is waiting to hear from a company now. Thanks in advance.

I'm a qualified tank truck driver with 12 years over the road experience. I'm looking for a good outfit to work for and my expected rate of pay must be .50 CPM for runs over 400 miles, and .60 CPM or 20.00 dollars per hour for runs under 400 miles. $20 dollars per hour for loading and unloading time and any other waiting time. I expect to make a minimum of $200 dollars per day. I have HAMAT, and TWIC. PM me if interested.

Not sure what the S.East pays but $200 a day is cutting your self short, Many companies guarantee $250 min. but that's up north of you
