Hey Dmax! thanks for all the info, I'm going to call a recruiter if these local gigs dont work out. I know every terminal will be a bit different, but how have you seen or heard most the driver run? is all forced dispatch or can you choose your loads? how often do you reset on the road? Is it fist fight every time you want to go home for more then a day? I use to pull tanker for Service Transport, good company pay wise, but being out six months straight and then treating to quit in order to go home for a few days made me turn the truck in.

I run regional so I am almost always off on the weekends. But if you chose to be a system driver (OTR) they will always get you home as long as you tell them in advance when you want to get home. As a company driver you don't really get to chose your loads, but sometimes my dispatcher will give me a few options and ask what run I want. They are usually pretty flexible. They try to get you home for a restart. If you run out of hours on the road and have to take a 34 they pay you for it.White_Knuckle_Newbie and crazeydude Thank this.

I have another question.
can you idle the trucks? -
There is a $100 monthly bonus if you are under a certain idle percentage, so they basically want you to turn off the truck when ever you are not in it. You can idle all night when sleeping in the truck for heat or A/C if you want.spooky-tooth and White_Knuckle_Newbie Thank this.

Any information on the Columbus, Ohio terminal on Harmon Rd?? Thanks!!
-
Good terminal. The dispatcher and the manager there are very nice. Most of the time you load out of a trans flo rail yard that is about 15 min from the terminal.spooky-tooth Thanks this.

Is there a dress code? can you have a beard or is it very clean cut?
-
I had to shave my 2ft long beard off. Goatee, trimmed only, and they provide shirts.skinnytrucker Thanks this.
