Go through a trucking company for truck Driving school. Celadon advertises free truck driving school. CR. England advertises free truck driving school. Prime Inc. Pays you $600 a week to go through their truck driving school. The greyhound bus you to a motel room where you stay for truck Driving school . Just pass the drug screen and physical on the first day.

Better off just getting the book from the BMV. Some online stuff leaves out viable info. Just my opinion
Longarm, lovesthedrive and Bama Roadrunner Thank this. -
No one will hire you for a job if you don't go through a fleet for truck Driving school. US Xpress , Swift, Knight, Trans Am, Schneider National, truck driving schools are not free like the celadon, CR England, and Prime Inc.

I'll answer your question since I assume you are talking about getting your learner's permit and want to practice the tests they give at the DMV. I used the practice tests at truckingtruth.com and they helped immensely. I think there are some here at Trucker's Report, but I've never used them.

Strange... I went the local Community College route and still found a job without a problem... And wasn't with any of the Megas.
Guessing I just got lucky...

What type trucking job are you interested in?
Will you attend a private/community college cdl school or a trucking company school?
There's a company in Decatur that hires new cdl grads; Tidewater Transit

Coffee, I've posted this before, but I did not use the "fleet driving school" method. I paid a private company with a credit card, (got a sale price over the Christmas/New Year season, $2,000 plus $200 for drug testing and MVD test) then paid that off with the tuition reimbursement policy at the mega I started with. It worked awesome. I wasn't indentured, it was one month, and it was free. The reimbursement was $150/month, so in 13 months I'd had all of Swift I could take and left a couple of hundred on the table, nothing much. It was a great way to do it, at least, it sure worked for me. Best.
I didn't like working for Swift, but they were the only ones who'd give me a ride, and the only ones with a terminal in my town where I could leave my pickup while I was out. I have no real complaints, except low pay, crappy trailers, and drivers who enjoyed leaving the trailers filthy, with lighting/tires/equipment issues for the next driver. A lot of drivers are fools like that, too, not just Swift, leave crap behind with some bizarre idea like "ain't my job," or "sure hosed the next guy, ha ha." I don't know, because I don't leave problems behind me like litter on the parking lot. (don't do that either) Another place for that one.Last edited: Feb 2, 2016
