    Hello,
I was wondering how important is it that a school be ptdi certified? Are companies more likely to hire a student? Also, can anyone list some of the best truck schools in the US?(from experience,or have heard/read)Ive found hundreds of lists online, but that dosent help me pick a school.
    Thanks for any help.

I dont think it matters where you get your CDL's.
But when I did my taxes the school had to be certified in order to claim your tuition on your taxes.

Ill be attending Sage trucking school this upcoming spring, and right now they seem to be the best or are at the top. Some are certified-not all Sage schools are, but you'll have to check, although they do follow the PTDI cirriculum-and with them you get one on one time in the cab, not you and 4-5 other students in the berth, like most. It will give you time to be comfortable and not be rushed so the next student has time to get his seat time.

    Milesprower Thanks this.

You may want to be careful about that. I believe that the school has to be Accredited, not certified. There's a difference. According to the IRS, an accredited school is one that is eligible to participate in a student aid program administered by the Department of Education. And also, if you get tuition reimbursement from your employer you may also have to claim that as income if you previously claimed the tuition as a deduction.
I am not a tax professional nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night so do your own due diligence on this.
