Tri-king tripac apu for the cab.
Digital thermostat control set the temp where you want it.
By all accounts it is running fine but I can exit the truck and it is cooler outside. The unit feels no cooler than a housefan would make it. Today was only 78 degrees out.
Is there a rule of thumb to hold repair shop accountable for their pm? Last one i had solved stalling issue, but within 200 miles it no longer got cold like it once had.
How cold does yours get when 78 and sunny?
I was wondering if i measure the air coming out the vent at the vent to the outside air temp would tell them something.
Basically i need some backup to make sure the work gets done. Every time you go it is first come first serve and that costs me money. Then you are hundreds of miles away within hours.
I even had the company mechanic look at it, but am not satisfied with turn the fan on too to help the air circulate. I live in Florida. All i ask for is to cool to 72-76 degrees.
Any advice?
APU ...doing it's job re cooling?

If you turn it to the coldest setting, does the compressor and the fan on the back outside of the cab run continuously? Mine makes it too cold to comfortably sit on the passenger side of my workstation table. But when it is very hot, over 100, I have to pull the curtain for it to stay cool. I'm in a white truck, so a dark one would be worse. They are very fussy, being low only half a pound of freon can make a world of difference.

I agree with Hardlyevr. Mine does pretty much the same.

Compressor supposed to remove heat so continuous is good or does it cut out when sufficiently doing its job cooling?

Compressor should cycle. If the refrigerant is low it wouldn't cycle the comprssor.
Do you get codes? Was it working any different before? -
No codes. It seemed to me that you would have to zip the sleeper, to keep it cold back there when temps in 90's and above outside. I literally do not sweat at 78 degrees, and feel hot back there at night.
I will see about the cycling in the next few days.
All my assumptions are based on the larger the space that needs cooling, the cooler that air should be at the source, or you need a bigger amount of air circulated...
I can put my wrist next to the outflow and it feels only a couple degrees cooler than the ambient temp inside.
