Alright we've all seen no end of stupid hand holding cause the brain cell count is too low in today's driver.

That being said, I actually had to give them a set of my keys or remain in the building. While on the inside I imagined going postal, I simply handed them one of 3 sets currently in one of dozens of pockets. I'm a reefer driver, choking down anger is a routine for me.

I mean really, you've gotta have my Keyes to unload me?

I don't know if I should be more angry at that particular Walmart DC, or more angry at other drivers that such a policy was implemented?:angry4:

I thought they made you drop the trailer in the door and go to the bobtail section.

    FerrissWheel and mitrucker Thank this.

Alcoa does this in Bettendorf, ia. Why did you get angry? Besides reaching in to your pocket, how were you inconvenienced?

    FerrissWheel Thanks this.

They may have changed the policy recently, several DCs in the northwest or any undergoing severe winter weather tend to not have you disconnect. Guess keeping a key is thier answer.

    Old news.
Been going on at various places forever.
What about the places that make you pull the red line and install a glad hand lock.

Just carry a junk key just for this deal.

    BoazTrucker and FerrissWheel Thank this.

That has been going on at wallmart for ten years, when the weather is bad, and they want the tractor to keep the trailer stable in the door while they unload it... hand them a set of keys, it satisfies the safety guru. Just don't pull out the other set in front of the clerk at the window.

Bean Jr., tucker and FerrissWheel Thank this.

It has nothing to do with being inconvieninced. Easiest thing in the world to do.

It's the fact that someone thinks this is necessary or , some idiot did something that made it necessary. It's the principle.

Must be more of a Midwest thing, been to DCs in I think Grandview WA and the one in Cheyenne when the pikes were down at thier exit and they didn't have me do anything but back in.

no rule or law was ever passed without someone doing something stupid to cause it
no one thought about speed limits on roads until Johnny Dummy drove down Main st of Bugtussel too fast. But once the brain trust gets involved the rules get so circumspect we lose sight of how they came about. It only takes one forklift not in the building to wreck it for everyone

And the Walmart in North Platte is the nicest Walmart I have ever been at
unloaded me a day early 2 different times
