    You got balls. I would never. I'm worried about a 2007 volvo going on mountains. How worried? I took 1 load to oregon with 25k. Took another 25k to montana and dead headed back to chicago because everything was potatoes or apples and heavy. You have balls lol

    It was a light load there and on the way back the 95 looked good, but I was not sure if it was OK to run it. But yeah, I would not take anything heavy going to Spokane, those ID mountains on i90 are bad. My balls are not that big ))

    I had a kenworth before. How long? Once a day I heard "big guy". It was a cat engine. Powerful. I loved running west coast and I never worried or asked what the weight was as long as I was legal. My stupid self sold the truck for what I bought it for, and felt like I got a great deal. It's as if I had a paid off truck lol. I lost a lot of money in stocks and trading. Had to get back on the road and settled for a volvo. I'm scared to do va and pa hills. 64 or 77 is a no go for me, I can't imagine northwest. Especially a 2001 with a driver.

    1998-2003 are much more reliable than 2004-2010, they are also much cheaper to repair. Believe it or not, when driving that truck, you feel like you are driving a car, its so smooth and quiet. You can buy an older Volvo in Southern States with no rust for 15k and completely rebuild it for like 35-40k. Then you basically have your own new glider for 50k, which will run another 700k with no problems. Its a much better choice than buying a 2012 one for the same money, which just now starting to break down.
    Of course it depends who are you buying it from, I would not buy anything from Chicago, but there are a lot of o/o in Cali, Nevada or AZ who keep older trucks in awesome shape.
    I bought a 2003 one from AZ few months ago, it did not have a single spot of rust, the paint still shines like new. When I brought it to MI, I started to get offers of twise what I paid for it. So yeah, my next truck is gonna be another old one or new one, if freight rates improve soon enough. I would not wanna buy anything 2004-2012

    I don't think so on the cali o/o's. they're non american that don't take of their crap. And drive like they don't care either. I have yet to see any good taken of stuff in cali or vegas.

    There are some dealers with good stuff, but those look like they were once a fleet. And not that old either.

    Weird story-
    Back in the '90s, first time through the Lewiston scales as an independent.
    Get the red light, go inside, scalemaster says "can I see your 53ft trailer permit?"
    "Don't have one".
    He hands me a tape measure and a permit application, tells me to move the tandems all the way forward, measure the KPTRA, write it in the box on the app, bring it back inside. One lazy ##* scalemaster.
