Yeah, the cap on the steer axle would be a deal breaker. Also sounds like no matter how much money this guy makes it will never be enough. Sounds like he may be his own worst enemy
Terry270 and Dominick253 Thank this. -
I've seen 2 posts of company owners getting soft for their drivers in the past week. with the abundance of super truckers on this site, can it really be that hard to find another stand up man to take the wheel and do things right, without the risk? Fire that guy. Invest in another guy. And maybe one day you can retire from running a smart business.
Otherwise, you'll be pullin for Walmart with the other has beens cheating America out of competition. Just saying. -
How can $380k a year not be enough. Hell I'm good with $50-70k a year myself.
-
That's gross. He had to pay fuel out of that, and based on how fast he was going, he probably was paying over $200,000 in fuel alone. Then maintainence, he probably only brought home $90,000.Dominick253 Thanks this.

Pretty sure he'd be better off in a different line of work anyways if he is only clearing $90k after $380k if that were the case. I would hope not.Flipflops and Dominick253 Thank this.

Really he is a "great driver"?
I think he's someone who needs to be off the road before he kills someone.
To me, screwing with all of it, as you wrote it seems to be one of the things you do to stab people in the back, I wouldn't want someone like that in my fleet no matter what.
Friends like that who stab you in the back, do you really need to deal with them?Flipflops Thanks this. -
If you're going to run hard then you better be smart about it, and it doesn't sound like he is.
Flipflops Thanks this. -
I told him today I cant. He seemed understanding
He ran too much. He didn't calculate his expenses. He cleared 70k + paid off his truck. His complaint is he has a lot to pay to IRS. He thought he would pay 6 thousand. I laughed when I heard that.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
How long has he been an o/o? Why wasn't he paying his estimated taxes?
-
Suicide (whether by threat or intention) is no joke. 1. He's using and manipulating you to do what HE wants. Or 2. He really is sick and something else will cause him to kill himself, including crossing a median and driving head-on into opposing traffic. Be smart. Cut him loose.
Flipflops Thanks this.
