Since they've locked the rate in toilet thread I started a new one .
Today's winner is : an OD load nearly 12 foot wide (11'10)
All in someone moved this "stinker" for 2200 including permits
Where do they find these genius's at ?

On some of these rates I often choose to believe it was double brokered or a cheap broker but that ONLY reason it has been removed was because someone paid actual money on it and load is no longer available. I fail to believe anyone would take such a load for such a price.
-
They told me they moved three of them for that or less.

Here's the biggest lie they tell , Driver shortage I call it lack of pay shortage.

In my company it's a shortage too. I got 80,000 seats open. If I can have 80,000 drivers I would be doing better than ever. Especially if I could pay them 26 cpm.
-
There is no shortage. Loads are being moved cheaper and cheaper, if anything there's too many drivers.

They will move over sized and over dimensional for what guys called a decent rate on legal loads just a couple of years ago. People from other segments who get in on that and have no idea about permits or escorts will do it. Some of them won't even buy permits. I know some guys who do loads like that when they pay good rates (which is rare anymore) and they will tell you that #### is flying off the boards the same as $1.20 a mile regular freight. Yes, it is moving for that.
4mer trucker Thanks this. -
Seen a 70ft load needing a stretch trailer paying 1.54 per mile smh
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Rc, it's under 12. Shouldn't need an escort. Tho obviously i would double check before booking it. And permits for al and Florida...under 50 bucks. Ifi remember right, my annual blanket permit for Florida was only 80 bucks. But that was a long time ago. In todays market, that's not THAT terribly bad of a rate. Not a good rate by any means. But not horrible. Obviously if al requires an escort then it sucks.Last edited: Feb 9, 2016

Call me a genius,.. but I'd do that load for that rate right now. Would I like more? Sure I would. Can I profit with maybe $90 in permits going 722mi into my home state for $2200? Absolutely. Its a day and 1/2 run at the most. My truck would use about $180 - $200 in fuel. I'd dead head back up to Orlando or Lakeland and set up for a load back out the same day I delivered. I'm not trying to survive by sitting idle and only doing 1 good paying load a week and then heading back home. Thats not my business model.
Hate me or love me,.. I'm going to keep grinding away and running load after load until I reach my goals. Some cheap loads,.. some paying better. It all evens out. I'm going to survive and if that means hustling nickel and dime loads along the way,. then so be it.
Trucking can be summed up with this quote I read a long time ago.
"2 truckers went into a house of prostitution together. When they came out, they had screwed each other."
Flame away.
