Swift ordered to pay owner-operator $2.6 million after trailer squashed his foot

    Had one not long ago. Went hunting for a trailer up in Chicago. Trailer not there so waited all day for new solution. Lost my load. Dm payed me the milage plus hourly for sitting. Again all depends

    Maybe if the driver wasn't wearing flip flops and his foot wasn't in front of the tire. Ya think ?

    I could not agree with Mystic more on this. I seen this so many times a Swift it might as well have been company policy. At one time Swift even sent out a safety message describing how 'to move tandems with a assistant.' In the old days of Swift you would be woken up several times a knight by the qualcom beeping asking you to read such a stupid message.

    I cannot have any sympathy for the driver or Swift. If Swift spent the minimum of maintenance on their trailers there would be no need for this to happen.

    I was talking about reading the transcript from the McDonald's coffee lawsuit.
    Read the actual transcript from the hearing. It wasn't that ridiculous after all.

    If I remember right the coffee was an amazing 230+ degrees or something insane like that.
    Considering coffee shops serve their fancy roasts at 180 degrees only when ordered as "extra" hot the extreme temperature was considered undue risk.
