Blah blah blah, you go get em super trucker! Lmfao. At least you're funny, unintentionally.
-
It's simply a topic that shouldn't even be discussed. Especially in a day and age where it's virtually impossible paper or elog....and then all it turns into a dick swinging contest between the outlaws and the elog crew about who has ruined everything.

I have not researched it but I believe the HOS rules came into effect in the late 30's as a way to stop the companies from abusing the drivers. It amazes me how what was designed to benefit has become a club to use against drivers.
bottomdumpin and ramblingman Thank this. -
Agree with you 100%. Back then they were needed because guys were running 24 hours a day. Unlike now though they weren't used as a babysitting tool for inexperienced drivers with dispatchers making sure that the truck is moving as soon as your 10 is up.
What I don't agree with is the blame game of who did what. The ATA doesn't even say it's in the name of safety. Their battle cry for years has been "level the playing field" with elogs.wore out and ramblingman Thank this. -
Ah yes the outlaws plowing into traffic coming off of meth. Please tell me more about what drugs the Walmart driver was on when he plowed into Tracy Morgan?
-
For every Kevin Roper there are 10 incidents of drivers running 2 books who end up killing somebody.
I someday hope to grow up and be a real trucker someday though. -
Wrong again. I personally know several who had a driver commit suicide by truck and they received no punishment whatsoever because the law determined they were not at fault and did not do any further investigation. I've looked over every single fatal accident truck lawsuit for the last 20 years and not a single driver was put in Jail unless he was deemed to have been directly at fault. #### the Russian driver in Chicago who had been driving for 35 hours straight when he ran into the state trooper and killed him only received 3 years in jail.
Stop the fear mongering rhetoric and start looking at the facts. -
I'd like to see the evidence please. It doesn't exists so I'll save you the google search, but nice try.Accidental Trucker Thanks this.

You're referring to criminal charges.
I'm talking about wrongful death lawsuits, which are CIVIL actions. Two different animals.spyder7723 Thanks this.
