Exactly, my point, thats why I wanted to ask before. It's not a problem, I saw other people doing it on other forums and wanted to clarify. I'm fine with just talking on here, it'll actually be better, I don't have to worry about booking loads on here, and I can just ask questions.

One other thing, give accurate appointment times. Did a load the other day for a new broker, was told I had a 9am appt. I show up at 8am to find out it was a 10am appt.

062, got it, I'm trying to be specific as possible. I will definitely say there is a learning curve, but appointment time is one of the big important things I check.

BrokeringBad, how is your freight brokering position 6 months later? What were/are some of your initial challenges and how did you overcome those obstacles?

Want advice? Look for consistency. I work with Coyote, and only one guy there works with me. Anytime I call on a load, no matter whose load it is, they tell me I need to talk to him, and they get him on the line. He gives me my price, and talks to his higher ups why. I do about 30-40 loads a week for this guy. I know every load coming out of where and what price, 3 weeks ahead. We settle on a price we both agree on, and he has a truck for sure. I also have a guy in CHR. Personally, my main thing is direct customers, and I also broker out loads, but my loads are never on the load board. I give them to guys I know.

Develop those relationships. They're consistent. A lot of brokers are ripping carriers off right now, and when the time comes, those carriers will rip them off. You want a career? Have a customer base, and a carrier base. Give consistency to both.
