Well thanks for the mention I just happened to be scrolling posts and saw my name lol...here's the deal on my division of greatwide...my fleets closing down, says they can't consistently make any money for greatwide/cardinal (mostly broker freight and some customer freight) even tho we have rejiggered things( with pay and how we operate) a few times and a few ways...it's a great fleet the pay is great for a lease truck...but as of today my fleet directed were to be given a few leads within greatwide dedicated there's a few different divisions.....truckload mgmt operates like eagle and others where u pick your own freight or run there agent or customer loads...supposedly more independence BUT here's the thing costs are higher there...like eagle very high operating costs..at greatwide dedicated my costs are low 748 all in and no trailer rental plus fuel discount and it's a good discount .30-.50 a gallon I've gotten a few leads to other jobs here but I'm not sure...I'm thinking to go to truckload mgmt also coz I keep in touch with crazy bigrayon from eagle and he's doing ok there even with the high operating costs..///he's with an agent....so there's a few differences between the different divisions at greatwide...it sucks coz I really loved my fleet and the money, maybe management just didn't manage well I really don't know...maybe I'm ready to look my own loads again but I have to super deep delve into ALL THE NUMBERS before I do it...rates just aren't gonna go up anytime soon...so customer freight base is probably better...broker freight is soooo dog eat dog lol...that's my .02 worth

Yes I worked for Gw tmgt for about 4 months I was with American transportation freight, money was great for a while then the bottom fell out rates dropped drastically, I turned my kW back in to quality, I drive company now hauling frac sand in pneumatic tanker make 38% after fuel run about 200 miles a day about $1500 to $1700 week no expenses out of pocket

Just to update this old thread...I'm at greatwide truckload management... American trans freight is who I'm with (6 months) there's 4 companies that run under them (American trans freight,Dallas and mavis, cheetah transportation, national transportation specialists) trans freight and Dallas mavis run pretty interchangeably Dallas agents can get transfreight drivers loads and vice versa...I don't really know what cheetah and national do....and there 2 systems u can domicile with an agent if u choose...hopefully they actually have "real" customer freight but most don't ....what lots of them do tho is say they do but sll they are doing is partnering with a broker or possibly a carrier(abf for one) that does have "customer freight" there are some thst have a small customer base and a very few larger agents with a larger base, but almost all are using broker freight to some varying degree (to get u back to there customer freight) most are just trying to run different guys on broker freight which is ok....main thing to do is learn which agents have good loads weather it's broker or customer freight(it takes awhile networking and trial snd error) don't get too comfortable ....stay central dispatch and network with the agents....your pretty much in the drivers seat...NOT THE AGENTS....after agents (good agents) know u they will be looking where u are and offering u loads, and u can find a few good ones to mostly stick with ...the money's good to great best to stay in good freight areas but u can get a good load out from anywhere if your persistent and don't get desperate lol ...you will learn which agents really trying snd understands what a drivers financial needs are i.e. Not always offering u cheap and easy freight...anyways there's much more...too tired to type more lol ....any questions I'll try to answer

Do Dallas Mavis require you to have your own tarps straps and chains etc?
