@Giuseppe Ventolucci not to hijack the thread.... wife asks if you are Siciliano or Calabrese? She's so Italian her moustache trumps mine on a GOOD day but ##### she can cook.

GOOD advice on this thread, tho . . . and don't forget linehaul may have drop/hooks with twins/doubles, and then again, there's always intermodal. Personally, I'll stick to yanking my tanks!

Be safe, drivers. God Bless Always.

The great Ventolucci is from San Luca, my friend. The best thing to ever set foot in America ! Lol jk

Greetings to your family. Mustache aside, you're lucky you get have Italian dinners waiting at home.

I guess we can all agree LTL is the best choice if job is on the table with little experience ! Don't think about it too much and jump on it

    I've never done OTR.

When I got on with my company, most LTLs wanted 3-5 years experience. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Quick question, I see ads for truck drivers and they usually say just local or regional or otr, I don't seem to find any that say p and d, ltl, linehaul, etc. Is it just going by the name of the company because you know what certain companies do, or just have to call and find out? I'm looking for something like p and d/ltl. Hopefully have my license end of april

Ltl is less then truck load, it includes both line haul and p/d. Same companies do both.

Pickup & Delivery. If they'll train you accept that job RIGHT NOW! ABF is a Union company. Overtime after 8 hrs/day and 40/week, near free insurance. A pension. ABF isn't easy to get into. Go for it! I did P&D and only left because of the hours. I didn't work that many, but where they were in the day took all my time from my wife and kid. P&D is good work. It makes the day go by because you never stop. Make a bunch of stops and empty the truck, make a bunch more to fill the truck, return to terminal and go home.
