Ironically, I AM on ELOGS. And ironically, the decision not to push last night was wrong. I got pulled into the coop. My brake lights weren't working apparently. I wiggled the cord, zip tied the cover to the light cord, fixed them enough to keep going.
BUT, because I'm running ELOGS, they check a day or two and don't bother looking at them very hard.
The guys in front of me in line, on paper logs? Yup, they handed in receipts which didn't jive with their logs, $490 fine.
So I don't know why everyone is against ELOGS. I wouldn't want to be on EOBRs, that's for sure.

They claim he was on duty 15 hours which isn't much of an egregious offense. Especially considering all the super trucker stories I've heard of guys driving 1,600 even 2,000 miles straight. I'd imagine you would need three log books and an insane amount of coffee to pull something like that off.

Such suits are filed against BOTH the company AND the driver, and every penny you have can become subject to a judgement. It can even cost you the roof over your head.
I'm as disgusted as anyone about having to be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator due to the irresponsibility of others, but it isn't worth tempting fate. -

Here's a great example. Legal driver on E-logs in perfect compliance who got a 3 year prison term for inadvertently murdering 4 people due to his own incompetence. A legal logbook doesn't change a #### thing. I can't emphasize that enough.
I have a dash cam to prove my innocence or guilt. If my incompetence leads to another death I'll take my punishment without complaint. -
Something I've learned in becoming an O/O bullhauler is that money is not worth much of anything. I've quadrupled my net income and it doesn't change anything. Bankruptcy isn't that big of a deal at least not to me.All I'm really concerned with is keeping my freedom.7-UP Thanks this. -

Love the high horses the eloggers ride. Should enter them in the derby.
Fact is, All truckers cheat on their logs.
1. Elogger rolls into a shipper at 10 pm for a 2 am delivery. Gaurd says park over there, if u r lucky, and u go sb. They call u at 2, u dock, screw with them for an hour, go park again. At 8 am, you go line 4 for pti/delivery, roll out at 830 with a fresh 14.
2. Outlaw paper trucker, after he has passed the last scale or toll on way to delivery, stops for a break /food/shower, maybe a nap. Rolls on to the delivery arriving at 2 am, parks afterwards sleeps till 8, and is rolling at 830 with a fresh 14. His logs looks the same as elogger when he rolls out.
Both cheated. Both got same rest/sleep. Outlaw got out of the truck for a bit, food, and a shower. Elogger ate in the truck, played x box, and will change his nasty drawers hopefully in the next 600 miles.
