I always take advantage of a free weigh. Why pay if you can get it for free?

It used to be common in ontario. Then idiots started sliding their axles while they were on the platform. Now they usually shut them off. I wouldn't be afraid to do it at an old style scale. Not at a super coop though lol
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
How can i take advantage of free scales in Pennsylvania?
-
When you see the DOT in a rest area and ask them to set up the portables.Hammer166, White_Knuckle_Newbie, PeteyFixAll and 4 others Thank this.

Nothing is free in Pennsylvania!
rank, FerrissWheel and silver dollar Thank this. -
do it often but rely mainly on dash gauge,we run 40k plus loads and free is free, but to dear gawd don't start sliding axles on the scale like I've seen cuz it won't be long before the perk is gone and they start gating all the coops when they're closed
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Same here, those air gauges are wonderful if they are consistent. Took a few CAT tickets to get a proper feel for mine. Now I always roll across perfectly balanced or only one or two holes off. Still get a legal scale ticket to cover my bacon. My company reimburses.
As for the weigh station scales, it depends on where. Colorado I might. -
I noticed that British Columbia had a free scale for trucks heading to the US.

Do it in Idaho all the time. Oregon doesn't show the weight, even when are open.
Then again, it's Oregon. They are special.....
