You want to see bright lights, go to Alaska up on the haul road. So bright you can see them from 2-3 miles away. When they see lights coming at them they deem theirs, unlike the fools down here.
rank Thanks this. -
Just buy nightvision or thermal googles with an light absorb decay option. They are best at ignoring them 4 wheelers who drive by your left and turn them high beams on. Also good for no light driving sneaking around weigh stations while overweight. Oh wait.bottomdumpin Thanks this.

I was talking with a fellow driver at a Swift terminal a couple of years ago. He complained he wasn't getting many miles, but noted he didn't drive at night. Told him I loved to drive nights because I could drive more miles without traffic.
"Yeah, but I just can't see."
"Have you aimed your headlights properly?"
"?????"
I offered to help him. Had him turn on low beams. I doubt he could have seen the top of his low beams over the top of his hood. Showed him how easy it was to adjust them on a Cascadia. Two minutes and it was a miracle! The blind can now see!
I drove four brand new trucks while I was with Swift, and recovered a truck with only 30K miles on it. All of them had the lights adjusted WAY too low.
Learn how to adjust your headlights properly. Usually the manuals that come with the truck don't explain it. Hint: search YouTube or Google. You can find a wealth of information there, from how to change a fuel filter to how to use the interaxle differential lock.BostonTanker, G13Tomcat, Grijon and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sure i can. But why should i tweak a brand new truck? That's set to manufacture AND dot specs.
My headlights are just as perfectly aimed as the other 20 million FL's out on the road. And i haven't looked on the new truck. But when i had to change the headlight on the last FL. I didn't see any adjusters.
If i couldn't see the road. Then i'd say the headlights were too high. But I see all road. Instead of trees. So, the problem isn't the truck. And i'm certainly not going to lower them. Just for that once in a blue moon person that thinks the brights are on. I want to see the road in front of me. Not the road under the hood.
And i don't think headlights use screwdrivers anymore. If there's an adjuster, it's probably going to be torx.Last edited: Feb 15, 2016

I just wear one of these anymore:

It really helps with all the idiots that think a properly aimed miniature sun attached to the front of their trucks doesn't blind other drivers and ride around with those HID lights and fog lights blaring from dusk to dawn. -
That's an inconsiderate attitude.
I guess that's the world we live in. 2 million steering wheel holders that don't give a #### about anyone except themselves.
A couple of years ago I replaced the headlight housings in my T800. Afterward I shon the headlights at the garage door and adjusted them like I always do. One out of every 50 trucks or so was flashing me and that didn't sit well so I got on the radio and asked if my lights were too high. "Driver side a little bit".
Is that so hard?Last edited: Feb 15, 2016

Ya,cuz every new truck comes out perfect from the factory .
If other trucks are flashing the brights at you,one or both lights are too high.
But obviously it's only about you.
You must have went to the @Richter school of trucking.
