First all, if you think a brand new truck MUST already have the beams adjusted properly, think again. In the factory they install the headlights in a...
.... Wait for it...
... well lit factory.
They don't then turn out the factory lights to adjust them.
Second of all, the Cascadia adjustment is dead easy. You don't have to pop the hood. There's a plastic socket to the outside of the headlamp. It does take a special 5 or 6 point star screwdriver head, but a pair of needle nose pliers work just as well. No need to open and close the hood to aim your lights, just park in front of a building or trailer and with a few turns on each light you're done.
Own your truck.
That's something I said to all my trainees. I don't mean you have to buy your own truck, I mean learn everything about your truck and take care of it.
Thinking that you aren't responsible to take care that your truck is in proper working condition just because you are a company driver just doesn't cut it.

It's not an inconsiderate attitude. And no, I went to the school of mechanics.
And it's not EVERY truck. It's one truck a month.
My headlights are perfectly aimed. They aren't high like you all would like to think. And they aren't low. So you all can keep your attitude.
If you don't like the aim. Then don't drive. Or take your complaint up with FL. Cuz i'm just one of 20 million FL's out there. Are you all flashing your highs at EVERY FL going the opposite way???????
If not, Then ZIP IT. -
I'm sure there's a wall or measuring tool or something to aim those headlights at.
There's also a tool that mounts to the headlights. And contains a bubble meter. Like a leveling tool. Utah shops have to have one of those tools along with other equipment to be certified by the state to do safety inspections. I"m sure body shops have them too. If i have to aim my lights. To which i haven't since my cars.of 90's era.. I look for a street i can park with no traffic. So i can see where the lights are aiming. Works better then a wall. -
It makes me wonder if drivers don't adjust their seat, steering wheel, and mirrors. They must figure the factory already had them adjusted perfectly and don't want to screw it up.
rank, tinytim and IH Truck Guy Thank this. -
Yeah, they put the adjusting screws on them because they like adding unnecessary parts.
rank Thanks this. -
I wonder how many people screw around with brand new equipment they don't own because they don't like dot specs.
