That IS one of the benefits of those models . . . true. I drove a F/L for awhile OTR years ago, and the convenience was cool. PB's are designed otherwise, LoL. You guys get spoiled in your rolling condos..j/k.

At least that driver put them OUT, even as an addendum to the rumble-strips; may have kept him alive, eh?

I move over for emergency vehicles because it's the law. I usually move to the left side of the right lane for the 89 other people a day I see parked on the shoulder. But that's about it. I'm not going to spend all day merging out of and back into the right lane, creating disruption among the traffic behind and to the left of me, just to show all the folks who park on the shoulder how much I care. I don't favor inconveniencing 20 people for the sake of one.

People saying "you'd want them to do it for you"....no, actually, I wouldn't. I'd feel better knowing I was creating as little disruption and inconvenience as possible. I wouldn't want people creating a bottleneck out of deference to my feelings.

... and may drivers feel the same when your daughter is broke down on the shoulder. Hate to inconvenience anyone for the sake of your loved one...

Groovy. Why would she need the entire right lane cleared ? Just keep out of the shoulder and everything will be fine.

Yawn. Make an instructional video, Sifu. Explain why you aren't giving everyone on the shoulder TWO empty lanes to the left of them rather than one. In fact, wouldn't it be safer and more considerate not to pass an immobilized vehicle at all ? Just shut down til that thing is up and running again.

All would have been well, but for the fact that experienced trucker was hit by a broadside gust of wind at the same time the ruts in the road pushed him to the right. Sorry for the loss of your daughter. The good news is nobody was inconvenienced.

I didn't say move over two lanes, I move over a lane if possible which most of the time it is...

Why NOT move over? You never know when a door will open or someone steps around the disabled vehicle.
I would rather move over than kill someone. If that is an inconvenience for vehicles behind me they can just deal with it!
Common sense.....Why does anyone argue with this?
Oh,That's right.....The "all about me" attitude these days!
