National Carriers pays their lease guys 70% line haul + fsc. 72% + fsc if you have TWIC and hazmat. Plus what are the other stipulations? Do they pay tolls or scales? What about maintenance? Even if it's new, it's still an International with that ####ing Maxxforce engine it. What kind of escrow account/s are you required to have? What is the term length? Is it a walk-away lease? No doubt that percentage is the way to go for a l/p, but you can still get up a creek real quick if you're not careful.
-
That's the first percentage lease I've heard of with paid DH
flightwatch Thanks this. -

Not if you have no control over your loads ... 70% on a $1.00 load will put you up that creek even faster.Philly1Finest, 88 Alpha and Rcross6774 Thank this.

You're saying they'd be making 6 cents more than DH miles, hell yeah!!
-
For sure, but if you take a l/p deal that is forced dispatch, then you're an idiot to begin with.
-
No control and forced dispatch aren't exactly the same thing. Percentage isn't "no doubt" better than mileage. All those other stipulations you bring up come into play.
A percentage plan with high overhead and heavy control on everything from dispatch to maintenance, can very easily be worse than a mileage plan with low overhead and low control.
Last is location ... live in the wrong spot and a percentage plan can cut hard into your revenues just trying to get home and finding freight to get out.
I'm not advocating mileage over lease or vice versa. Anyone getting into a lease has to look at all the parameters and determine what will work for their long range business plan.Rcross6774 and kbarttt Thank this. -
Well you know what they say "If it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't" Sounds more like some fancy marketing ploy to get some drivers to move over try it out maybe they are being truthful but i'd really read the fine print on the contract first.

Don't be leave a darn thing the radio said. Celadon does not pay on you dead head miles on % pay. You only get .94cpm when you have to runaround looking for empty trailers. Also Celadon pays on Household Carrier Guide Miles. Also Celadon will change the rate with out you even getting notified. This happen to me on two trips they said it paid over 2400.00. When I got my settlement the two trips where cut in half. So other words a ran from Laredo to LA 1331 miles for less than 1400 the other trip was from Laredo to Detroit. Celadon said that was a project pay? Plus the other bad news was fuel discounts at the pump only 0.4 cents per gallon if you get it. Needles to say I'm done with Celadon / Celacrooks. Good luck if you even get .88cpm with these's guy's.
