I had one few years ago and it has been good radio to me.
Crystal clear audio and good receive, BUT as always be careful who you going to let open up the radio.....bought mine from Key CB in Indiana.Cricket Man Thanks this. -
Yes it is provided it has not been butchered up. The Power Amp boards are pain to fix and the average CB shop cannot fix them. I repair out of warranty Stryker radios for the factory. The 440 is good radio for a two mosfet final unit. Dead key about 10 swing about 50. Good solid unit IF IT HASNT BEEN BUTCHERED.Cricket Man Thanks this.

What is a good linear amplifier to match the radio?
-
Texas Star High Drive Variable 350. It works very well with the swing of this radio and is not hard on your truck electronics.
-
You have one?
-
It all depends on how good your technician is. Some are good some are bad.
handlebar Thanks this. -
A cb shop converted over and peaked and tuned my Galaxy DX 47 HP and it bleeds over on people's blue tooth they have jammed in their ear .and their cell phone. They complain about my Roger beeb and say they are deaf now
Bout Z and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
That sounds pretty typical for most shops around the country. Bleeding over on aircraft frequencies also.
Bout Z Thanks this. -
Something with 6× Toshiba 2sc2879 or 8x DEI 2sc2879
transistors in parallel should be about right for that rig.
