If you don't mind my asking, how much specifically in gross pay per pay period? From what I understand, payday is bi weekly. -
Not sure. I can ask the new guy that just started with us. He came from there. I di know that he was on pace to gross 80,000 this year alone. Other drivers from there that I have talked to said the same, that make around 80 or more a year and work 12-14 hour days. To me, not worth giving up your homelife for that amount.CrappieJunkie, Bosscity318 and Surfer Joe Thank this.

I don t know about the Reinhart Foods where you re from, but the drivers who left my company and went to work for them starts at 20.00 hr. They go in at 2am and return around 2 or 3 pm. They deliver to all of the Burger King s near me, and may have to go over to Austell, Ga and back.

Hey all,
Newbie to the board and decided to jump on this thread since this is the company I currently work for. Would be happy to answer all questions concerning Reinhart to the best of my ability.
So anyways, my introduction. Getting back into things after a few months away from Reinhart and trucking in general. Tried a little bit of grass is greener in office type setting and found out that the grass is not and taking care of your family is a lot more important than promises of what might be, even if they are on paper.
Been driving for about 10 years in some way or the other. Started at Coca Cola and had a bunch of time there, but all good things come to an end. Went to work in the drilling industry for about a year and drove and operated a lot of heavier equipment, became pretty good at backing flatbeds in spots where no truck should go. Loved the work and experiences, but was just away from home way too much. Got back into foodservice with Reinhart in 2014 and have had a decent run. Never thought I would be beating my body up like this at 34 still, but it is really hard to shake. For all the good and bad, having a cdl and doing this work has paid well consistently and been rewarding personally and professionally.
On another note, I have been reading a lot of the regulars posts for a while and it is good to see people who are professionals and learning and teaching everyday. MikeJ, great posts, I remember going through a lot of the day to day when I started out and banging my head against a wall and then everything clicking. Keep up the good work.

What kind of pay are you making there jjpainter1? And are you home everyday?

My division is component pay so it breaks down to .30 case/ .30 mile/ and 2.70 stop. $15 for a backhaul your not loading, $2.40 on a drop ship. Then there are the quarterly performance bonuses, which, to be honest I am not sure what they break down to, but it has to do with scanning accuracy and safety. Suffice it to say it is a good chunk of change on those paychecks. As for what that looks like at the end of the year, it is really hard to say. A lot of it has to do with how aggressive you are with picking up extra cases/ stops/ opportunities. I work in the Tidewater division( Hampton Roads, VA) and operate out of a shuttle lot in NC, so the ability to pick up extra routes isn't really there as much. I will say this though, we have guys that are pulling 80K out of lots and guys that are probably in the 50-55 range that are happy with that. My market is still developing and we only run two trucks in that part of NC, but 65-70k is normal. Mind you, I am working around 45-55hrs per week, not killing myself. They try to balance things out, but a lot of the time, making nice with dispatch, keeping the bosses happy, and the right attitude can get you "better" stops.
Home every night, we are a "street" division, so we only run smaller restaurants, not multi-unit and chain. Most other divisions are hybrid, which means they have street and chain stuff like Burger King, Subway, etc. Run into those guys from time to time and they have more overnight routes, but it seems like those are reserved for guys with more seniority as I think they tend to be gravy, or at least the impression I get. I think the pay scale at these divisions vary slightly as they can get a lot of cases. Some of our guys go and work extra out of town and say the subway routes tend to be like 10 stops/1000 cases. Our guys clean up since they get paid on our scale. Hope that helps. -

Here in Cleveland, I have never seen Reinhardt do anything but Subway, Famous Dave's BBQ, Pot Belly Sandwich Company and Big Boy the original Big Boy not the Cincinnati based Frisch's Big Boy. I have never seen them do any regular non chain or multi unit place here in Cleveland so they must not be tapped into that around here. I know Subway is like there big account here in Cleveland that's mostly what they do.
