This is what I use to supply power to my laptop. I keep my laptop on 24/7 without the battery in it. I also have powered external speakers plugged in to the Cobra 400 W inverter and use the usb connection on the inverter to recharge my phone.
If all you want to do with it is supply power to your laptop and pay for the inverter using fuel points, this is the one I would get. If you want to spend real money, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc may have better options.

I'm looking for an inverter myself. I just picked up a high power gaming laptop. It looks like the power supply is rated at 330 watts. I'm thinking of going with a 600 watt inverter. I'm not sure if I should go with a modified sine wave or pure sine wave inverter.

Do your self a favor, get a good pure sine wave inverter, 1000 watts should last a lifetime. Always figure 10 to 30% higher than any of the equipment largest consumption.

Yes pure is better. I recently upgraded mine from a 2,500 modified to a 2,000 watt pure sine wave as my induction cook top would not work with the modified one.
Since the swap I noticed that my microwave runs quieter and cooks faster, plus it doesn't interfere with the satellite radio reception when using the microwave.TachItUp Thanks this.
