Okay, I got fired from my job at Schneider. My wife was sick and I needed to get home any way I could. But I broke the rules too many times and boom donezo. But I got a job the same day. I tore apart the web and found this place called central transport in Aurora IL. Pays great and its local home daily. They got a huge sign that says hiring local drivers. I get in, fill out the app. They call me back. I got the okay on the MVR check, they okayed my app and I explained my two terminations I've had in my work history and they were fine. Get a second call, they want me to do and drug screen and a physical. I do both, my DOT card is in my handdds. So I go back, the terminal manager said cool I hope your clean. They explained benefits, pay, work duties, training, ALLL OF IT! I have 10 months experience and they only need 6. But here I am past the 5 business days with nothing. Why would they go thru all that just to not bother. Can anyone help me understand this?
I didn't think this was a concern

Make a friendly phone call on Monday morning. Perhaps waiting for response from previous employers?
Puppage Thanks this. -
I'm thinking that might be what killed me. Due to the emotional stress I was having I didn't ended things well with my last employer so maybe they got some bad feedback about me. Idk, I texted they terminal manager but never got a response back. I'll try a call on Monday like you said tho, but I got a bad vibe that this may be a lost cause

Your past employers can't by law say anything except the dates in which you worked there. Unless you abandoned a truck and that's on your DAC you should be good.

I agree with you the problem is that sometimes your former employer doesn't follow the rules and decided to be vindictive.
I had the exact same thing happen to me as the O/P. In regards to doing physical drug test and then oh sorry we changed our minds.
Good luck tony hope you find something quick.goin2fast10, Dominick253 and MISPLACED TEXAN Thank this. -
It really sucks, but it happens. Earlier this year, I was hired on at a frac sand hauling company where live. They sent me for my drug screen, physical, fit test, and other things. I passed everything, and the terminal manager hired me. Shook my hand and told me that he'd call me in a couple of days with my start date. After 5 days of not hearing anything, I called him. After several more days, I finally got a hold of him, he was very cold and said very generically "we have decided that you are not the best fit for the company and have decided to move onto other qualified applicants." And then hung up on me. Luckily, I hadn't put my notice in at my current job yet. I never could get an honest answer as to why they basically fired me, but if they were like that, I'm glad that I didn't go to work for them.
Best advice is to call them and find out what the hold up is. You need an answer because you aren't working and you have bills to pay. They can't keep you in limbo for an indefinite amount of time, and if they're not gonna hire you, then they need to stop wasting your time and you can move on to the next place. -
#### that sucks, I was talking to another trucker buddy of mine and he had the same thing happen to him twice. This is my first time so I wasn't aware they would go that far and waste time and money. I'm just giving it til tomorrow and then call on Monday. I'm unemployed so I need to get moving on something soon cuz I'm not sure if I'll get unemployment insurance cuz of my termination status. But man that really does happen huh? F&%$

well that's load off, but I hope my past employer stays within the law. It was Schneider and they are very by the book there so I'm pretty confident they will regardless of a bad parting
-
That's a common misconception.
It varies by state, Schneider is headquartered in WI...

I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification. I've only lived in Texas and Washington.
