While Wisconsin may have an exemption, the state of Illinois doesn't from what I understand which I assume is where the other company is.
ALSO to the OP, just keep applying to other companies, with thousands out there plus local mom and pop operations (not to forget non-trucking companies) there are a lot of opportunities.

Or how about email Schneider and say "My name is Hugh Jassman from human resources at ABC Trucking. I am looking for employment verification and qualifications of a former employee ___________. _______________. Response and/or comments appreciated."

I dispatched myself twice and I drove past my hours, but I was being followed by mechanics and it was just a mile or two to get the truck back to the yard. But I went past my hours a few mins once before too

I don't really know how to answer that. My wife had gull bladder surgery and her body went into shock for some reason. She suffers from general anxiety and it shot thru the roof. She was an emotional wreck. It stressed me out, that's all I can say
