Went to the local Big Rig junk yard looking for a spare 24.5 aluminum budd and a Jake micro switch for the pump and ran across this O'l Peterbilt. Just simply surprised it is still in 1 piece. Cummins power with a 36" bunk and air ride, just as it left the factory. To many projects now or I may have ask the big question.....![]()

Must not have many truckers around ya. I can't believe it's been there so long, the grill is weathered. BUTTTTTT it still has Pete badges
Oxbow, OLDSKOOLERnWV and rank Thank this. -
Bet you could snatch that up for cheap

Best part is its a short hood. Is that the power steering reservoir hanging out in place of the air cleaner?
Cottonmouth85, OLDSKOOLERnWV and Blackshack46 Thank this. -
That looks to be a 750 luberfiner hanging off the side , but I coukd be wrong. Those were really popular back then. Real cool how it's unmolested, right down to the original split rims on the steer

Truck has the small door in the right side of the hood which allowed you to check the oil without tilting the hood, that is kinda nice but.... what if a belt is ready to break or fan hub is loose? Nice to see all those things. I just like the older stuff, can't help it.

You really need to rescue that quick.........

Cool find. ALWAYS nice to see a 359 that is still savable. This particular truck appears to be a '74-'76 ( '77 was the 1st year for rectangle headlights) aluminum hood.( rivets on the hood skin) Actually, this would be the "medium" length hood, as there was a shorter fiberglass hood. Probably has a "flat dash", as '77 was also the 1st year for the "round" or "Corvette" dash, although, I don't care for that comparison, as the Corvette had no influence on the shape. This truck looks a lot like my '85 day cab I bought many years ago. Make no mistake, a truck like this is going to need everything, and it's not a project for the faint of heart ( or wallet). Still, 359's are getting rare, and with the price of fuel being low, many old timers are thinking about getting an older ride like this, to be cool again. I paid $7,000 for my '85 in '03, and it ran, although, needed everything. Little stuff, mostly. ( cab and engine/ trans. mounts, steering column u-joints, hood wiring and LOTS of electrical work). It was a nice truck when done, but sadly, when I sold it in '09, it was a tough sell, and only got $6,500 for it.( day cab limited prospective buyers and a bad time to sell anything) So better get it cheap. Here was my '85. http://assets.blog.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2014/03/HowardArbiture_04_1500.jpg
