Hello everyone. I'm in NY and was accepted into Prime for their PSD program. It doesn't seem like a bad deal but I have a hard time keeping in touch with my recruiter. I was supposed to ship out to start the program on the 29th but was informed that it might be getting pushed back 30 days do to sleep apnea. I had informed my recruiter on my situation and they didn't tell me I had to have 30 days on my cpap even though I don't have to use it anymore do to me losing a bunch of weight. I was just curious what other companies have a similar program do to my current situation. I really need to get going on this because I really need to get back to work. Any information is much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Try Earl Henderson. They are in Illinois or Maverick in Little Rock. Both will help you get CDL.

Take your pick. They're all over the place. You would be wise to pick a company that requires the most hours of training as possible.

Insufficient training has placed many drivers in a spot that they weren't ready to handle because they were too wet behind the ears.

While weight is indeed a contributor to sleep apnea, there's plenty of skinny people that have it, too. Congrats on losing the weight....that's always healthy. And, best of luck.

Check out Willow run foods they will get you your cdl if you sign a 2yr contract. They're about a mile down the rd from Frito Lay. Its doing food service, its intense but you can gross around 1100 a week working a 4-5 day week. If you don't mind a hr commute check out McLane food service, They pay even better than Willow Run

Both of the places I listed have the same type of schedule. You do 2 30-36hr runs a week. Go out deliver until your 14 is up, take your 10 off, finish up the route and go home. Not a bad schedule for the money you make. The other type of run is a turn and burn with 2 drivers. Typically you do 3 a week and they are around 18-20hr runs. At willow run if you do 3 turn and burns a week your looking around 1300-1425 with the 150 per diem included

I'd like to jump on this thread also, since I live in NY as well (Manhattan). I'm currently in the process of obtaining my CDL permit, but I'd like to plan ahead so I can get this process done sooner. Any suggestions on where I can find some CDL training while working on the job?

Not to distract answers for your question; I love Manhattan and the women there are beautiful. It would be cool to live there but I don't believe there's a truck driving job that pays well enough to support living in Manhattan. Car hauling pays the best but it's not what it used to be. I've heard the cost of living is very high in Manhattan.
