From a standpoint of a driver, I agree that it's on the banned list. It can keep you up for days. I know medicines effect everyone differently, but I never got a good night's sleep. Woke up tired as all hell every day.

Semmelweis finally proved that washing with chlorine could prevent up to 90% of the infections at the clinics. You'd think everyone would be thrilled. Semmelweis had solved the problem! But they weren't thrilled.
For one thing, doctors were upset because Semmelweis' hypothesis made it look like they were the ones giving childbed fever to the women, like he was BLAMING them. Semmelweis kept trying to convince doctors in other parts of Europe to wash with chlorine, but no one would listen to him. He was fired, institutionalized by the doctors who refused to listen to him, and ironically, died of a blood infection at age 47... the same type of disease he was so close to eradicating.
All because the Dbag's couldn't accept the fact that they were wrong. Even when it was clear, the science was right there, it wasn't a theory anymore... It made them feel bad to accept the fact that THEY were the ones killing those patients. They couldn't just accept that there was new knowledge. So they went back to stupid crap like "ringing bells on the left side of the mother" and "reciting a specific prayer"...and people went back to dying.
That was in 1846. More than 50 years passed before it was "discovered" that washing your hands prevents infections in your patients. And it wasn't until the 1930's that it became regular practice.
Stuff like that drives me bonkers. What down side did it have besides admitting they were wrong? Sure, there would have been extra cost involved with the disinfectants for washing, but since when don't medical professionals pass on that cost to the patients anyways? lolajohnson Thanks this. -

is that because dextro is an amphetamine like meth? -
You can most certainly tell if someone is taking MORE than the prescribed amount. Do a blood test and check the levels. Its not tough to figure out if someone is taking more than they are supposed to........the blood tests don't lie (usually). Are there exceptions to the rule? Just like most everything, yes. But if your blood shows you have double. triple etc of the amount in you that you are supposed to, then its on you to prove them wrong. Usually its not.
If you are railing them (which I am assuming you mean crush and snort), yes, that is a whole different beast. You're taking the same amount, however, you are changing the method it reaches your bloodstream. Crushing most ANY med and taking it via a mucous membrane type area will make it work in ways its not meant to work. That is dangerous, and addicts and irresponsible users will do it to get high, not to fix this issues with ADD/ADHD. Responsible people prescribed it won't be railing it to make it work the way its supposed to.
Not everyone who takes Adderall is a tweaker. In fact, I know quite a few people who take it and I can assure you, they are anything but. I take it. I see addicts and tweakers every day in my ER. I work as a critical care respiratory practitioner. That means I'm the dude who puts you on life support in the ER or ICU, and I'm the guy who takes you off. I'm also the guy who runs the ventilator and makes sure you stay breathing, makes sure your blood gas levels maintains at the levels needed to keep you alive and get you better, and am directly responsible for making sure you get the best possible care I can give you. I can also say that once I was prescribed it, my ability to provide excellent patient care improved a ton because I was able to focus much better and not have my mind go in 30 different directions at once. Its made me a much better practitioner, and honestly, a much better person.
I have never had an ounce of drowsiness on the comedown. Ever. I can assure you that in my profession if my adderall use was affecting me, I wouldn't be able to hide it.
Comments like yours just shows complete ignorance. Research before you type.Bach111 Thanks this. -

No offense, but caffeine is nothing like an amphetamine.
One pill coukd keep me up all night if taken an hour after I was supposed to, as I said all medications affect everyone differently, it's my opinion. -
