    Nope.
    I don't mean that.
Up to 140/90 is good to go for a 2 year card unless you are on meds to keep it that low.

    12 ga Thanks this.

Avoid sugar, alcohol and caffeine a few days prior to your physical, sugar sends bp up more than people think. Also take omega oils like krill oil, about 1000 mg a day for a few weeks prior also..it helps thin the blood and drop blood pressure.

There are foods that have a high sodium content that you should avoid or at least consume in moderation. Read the labels on food containers. In general, foods with bacon, cheese and/or creamy sauces are often a problem. High blood pressure is very common. There is usually a better alternative in the grocery aisle if you read the labels and shop wisely. And don't stress about it so much because that can increase your blood pressure reading.
    .
.For example: choose Pepsi or a store brand with lower sodium content instead of
Coke or Ginger Ale. Lightly salted chips instead of the regular chips. Personally, I avoid the no salt chips because they taste like [bleep]. Get your burger without cheese. Read the label on microwave Pizza carefully. The vegetable pizza would seem to be healthy but it is often terribly high in sodium level.

I read somewhere once that too much water before a BP reading can send it up as well. I guess it's something to with the body processing the liquid? Though I'm not a doctor and being a former radio DJ, I never played one on radio either.

I have heard the excess water thing before. Don't know if it has been proven, but it is easy enough to avoid drinking too much before an exam.
