I have a 2002 F350 Extended Cab Long bed, 4x4, 7.3
I am towing a Big Tex 20AC-51 3 Car Hauler
The Truck has a 5th Wheel Max Towing weight of 14,000 and a Max Tongue Weight of 3,500 and a GCWR of 20,000
The Trailer weighs 8,000
I have my Class A CDL
Am I doing the math right when I come up with a weight of only 6,000 that I can tow on the trailer or are there other factors that come into play that change that. It seems low to me. Only 2 small cars?

You would have much better luck posting this in the Expediter and Hot Shot Trucking Forum. You could probably find your own answer there as well.
d o g and Andrew Brechbuhler Thank this. -
What is the weight of the truck?
Add that weight to the weight of the trailer loaded with all of the securement stuff and then subtract it from 20k, that will give you what you can put in the trailer, assuming that the trailer will take more than a car. -
goose neck ball has more capacity all them numbers mean nothing about 33K max total weight is what I been plated at for 9 years. truck will drag 20-22K no problem just not at a high rate of speed unless downhill.
6 speeds hold up better after you get rid of needle pilot bearing. I try and stay under 26K mostly now.
Main thing on Fords don't put to much weight on rear truck axle let trailer do the work.paulpost Thanks this. -
If you stay under 26K but plated at 33k do you operate like being plated for 26K ?
