It's not really ignorant. It's called knowing how to do this job. See....so even if all this is true about policy about being over 12K....scaling before to go to bed makes all the difference in the world. It means even if you have to wait till 0800 to rework you aren't waking up at 0300 and having to stop early because you can't get back to sleep.

See I've done this once or twice myself too and in the last 10 years I haven't had half as many problems as Captain has in the last 2. Maybe it's time he starts looking in the mirror....seems to be a pattern here

What will I ever do maybe use common sense
Roll on like a real truck driver
Unlike the Magnum driver that with 20 years says he can't find a good job
Or the WEL driver that sits in the TS. 5 miles from his house because he can't leave his load
Please everyone stop embarrassing the human race IMG_20160225_091616.jpg

I've been at those axle weights plenty of times along with other drivers that I know, never had a issue. If Celadon has issues about going over 12,000 maybe they should go back to the old L10 or M11

Zoomie, I rather look forward to your posts, as they are very entertaining. And I'm certain the forum administrators love the page hits that your blog generates, so it's a win win situation for all of us.

However, I'm sure you realize that posting anything in an open forum will subject you to other people's opinions. You may not agree with those points of view, but surely you realize that some folks (myself included) are going to armchair quarterback your chronicles.

Admittedly, I stay tuned partially to see what is going to go wrong for you and the Hot Chick. I genuinely feel bad for some of your circumstances, others I think you create for yourself and you need to take responsibility for those actions (as I'm sure you do).

Company policy is company policy, I wouldn't violate them either, even if I disagreed. I now realize you were joking when you stated that "you haven't worked this hard in months", but I already had doubts in my head about the possibility of you actually completing the load. I ALMOST posted such, but I didn't want to upset the many fans in your gallery (I'm also a fan, I've already written that I stay tuned).

I'm going to offer a final opinion and I apologize in advance if it offends you and anyone else - taking your ball and going home is completely inappropriate and borderline childish. Remember, YOU chose to chronicle your adventures and WE chose to read them. Because you disagree with some criticism doesn't mean we all can't go on like the men (and women) that we are.

Best of luck to you and the Hot Chick, I'm out for now.

If not going over 12k on the steer is their rule then why are they specing short wheelbase set-back axle trucks for their fleet? Makes no sense to me when you're probably over 11k bobtail. I understand not wanting to violate company policy. However now with the aid of hindsight and knowing the chain of events it caused as well as the hit to your paycheck maybe next time slide the 5th wheel one notch and roll on at 12.2 or so. The reality is you followed their policy and lost the load and your pre plan. That's a solid chunk of lost revenue if you didn't have anything available after the relay.

Working for mega companies there is always conflict with the driver smack in the middle of it. So far I'm enjoying the chronicles of Zoomy and such. My employer has 3 tractors being used. They have 1 more but gave up on finding a decent driver. Kadyl is a Broker and we haul loads either they can't move or whatever is available. Some short loads, they pay by the hour. Good people that care. I'm glad I found them.
