I drive for a big company. I recently had a rollover, backing up at less than 5mph. The trailer had very little damage, there was no spill and I have a pretty good record otherwise.
My company likes me and wants to keep me on.
This all sounds promising AND it is. I like them too. They've been good to me BUT I was close to going local.
My question is, would a local company still hire me after a rollover event that I was not cited for by local or state police, taken back by my company, did not harm anyone and inflicted as little damage to equipment, environment with no individuals harmed in the incident? How does it look for me?

You can sugercoat it all you want, but a rollover is a rollover. It just depends on the accident policy of the company.

I don't understand. Did you back into a ditch? Was the freight shifted to one side, making the trailer lean? How do you roll a truck in reverse at 5 mph?

Ever seen a frameless dump? They flip if a big mosquito lands on one side.

That may be true, But the OP never said what kind of trailer.

It did go into a ditch. The ground gave out beneath the weight of the load.Big Don Thanks this.

It's not about sugarcoating. These are the circumstances.tucker Thanks this.

I like to think when accidents like this happen and the company keeps you.... You've become locked down. Hey stay with us its okay..... Then the moment you leave... "Were putting that on your DAC!!"
rachi and truckthatpassesyouby Thank this. -
You can call it what you may. The circumstances are not part of the problem. Some companies won't hire you with a rollover. Best advice is stay where you are now.TequilaSunrise Thanks this.

That definitely happens with end dumps
