I drove for BTC from 1988-2008. Family owned .You can work % or mileage.Take the %. Why? On mileage theres a built in ceiling. You can only run X miles in a week. Theres no ceiling w/ percentage money. Keep the D/H down and stay away from cheap freight.
You will have no trouble getting home living in Weatherford. -
I worked there 20 yrs. I know 2 drivers that have L/P and paid off their trucks. I know a more drivers who have bought trucks from a dealer and paid them off while working there. I personally know of one driver who started there in 1987 who is still there. He came w/ his own truck. He has paid off and/or traded up 6X. He just traded up for a 2015 Pete.

I worked there 20 yrs. My advice? Drive a company truck for at least a year and save every single penny you can. Learn the good areas, the bad areas.drive that company truck like its yours and keep track of every penny. Then go to L/P,
When you do L/P You will have to pay your own Social Security (12.7%) Your own Federal Income Tax (quarterly).
get a cash back no fee Credit card to pay for ALL truck expenses( except fuel).PAY IT IN FULL EVERY MONTH ( thay way the card company is paying you to operate on their $).At the end of the year you will have a complete expenses report.
Find a CPA that specializes in trucking to do your taxes.
I could go on and on.. -
I worked there 20 yrs. on percentage and made good money. Any time there were loads going to NYC I jumped on them. Why? BTC does not go to the city cheap. They do have one customer that pays the driver an extra $100,for a drop in within the 5 boroughs of NYC. I always told dispatch.I do not care where it goes ,I just worry what it pays.

Since I'm in Dallas, anyone out this way working for them as company driver? I have a few questions.
-
The pay scale is correct.I worked there 20 yrs.Take the 29% .There is a built in ceiling when getting paid by the mile because you can drive only X miles in one wheek. The oldest trucks are 4 yrs old
