That reminds me. I've been in the caves in Independence, Missouri with my 379 and a 53' van . Didn't hit anything. Got in, got out.

It was a joke! I have driven nothing but hoods and long wheelbase cabovers.
I run a 270" 389 with a 73" sleeper and a 48' step now I have to work on it also. So I like the fact I don't have to disassemble the interior to get the head off if I need to or do an I frame. I had to drop the Trans and do a clutch job 4 hours and it was on the ground. Open the hood and there is the front of the motor and the back of the motor! Open the hood of a slope hood truck and your lucky if you can get to the fan belt!
I have no problems turning or getting in or out of job sites.

Long hood, short hood. How about no hood? That's the real answer...

I did the no hood first two years. Cabovers, that is.
Awkward to climb in and out of. Rough ride . Put your pants on lying in bed. They want to jackknife.
    Very maneuverable, though.
    Not going back to that.

    above

I have owned high rise cabovers since 1990. I put my pants on standing up
This Argosy has kick out steps making it easier and safer to get in than any conventional
Somehow have never jack knifed in the 4 million + miles I have driving cabovers.
Ride on a modern(Argosy or euro design) cabover is light years ahead of the lousy excuse of a truck older cabovers represent.
    Yes, maneuverability is good.
My buddy says my brains have turned to mush driving cabovers for 40 years.
    What was the question?

I never minded the getting dressed part I might now I'm not as young as I used to be.
I drove a lot of long wheelbase cabovers as we hauled laminated Beams out of Oregon.
Started out in a 1963 freight shaker 5&4
8 92 Detroit 300" wheelbase for a drilling outfit in Arizona. Things have come a long way!
