Last night JJ and I were just thinking about going to get some Dinner and the QC beeps, so im like what now? it was night Dispatch wanting us to drive 18 miles and check on a Driver in Gallatin TN he hadn't been heard from since 0500 hrs.
So we send a message back asking can we drop our trailer and Bobtail there as it would be faster......night dispatch says yep we can, so we dropped our trailer and head of, after driving around for a while we spot his truck next to his delivery place, curtains all drawn and idling, JJ knocks on the door a few times and walks around the truck no answer.
Soooooooo I get out and start banging on the sleeper right about where his head would be and low and behold this sleepy looking head looks out the window and we let him know he better call dispatch asap.
Thank god he was ok and it all worked out good we got paid for the miles and the surcharge and $40

Every time I pass one of the red Pete's I look for the JJ on the side. Have not seen you yet. If I do though I will yell on the CB for you.
I am in the East all the time though, so it is harder to run into people. Espically since apples and potatoes are going to start coming in soon. That will keep allot of our drivers busy in Cali, WA, OR, ect. -
Are you guys pleased with central?
-
Depends on what you are looking for.
They have allot of miles. I am starting to look for a company closer to home, or at least with weekly home time. It will make my wife much happier, and that in turn will make me happy.
I have no issues with the company in general though. You do have to watch your pay, to make sure it matches, and you really need to check your logs and route to make sure you can do a load before you take it.
Most of the load planners are brain dead, but if you accept it and cannot deliver on time they will blame you.
Also the new idle policy pisses me off. But so far I am below 30% so not affecting me. -
We are down in South Carolina right now. Looks like we will be Dispatched back towards West Valley so JJ can do his 45 day Evaluation another day wasted, But reasonable miles to get back there and since they wanted him there last week I'm pretty sure they will get us a load back that way quickly.
I was hoping to get a look at a few states I haven't seen yet.....Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi but oh well maybe next time.
I got a Map today to send to my Parents in Australia so they can see where we have been, I text message Mum every couple of days and let her know what state we are in and that all is well. -
How did you end up with a pete? I thought those were only lease trucks?
-
He is leasing it.
That is why I said in another thread to direct lease questions to him. -
Not as much as I was maybe 4 months ago. Now, with the idle policy, and the troubles I've had with my truck, I'm not so happy.
-
Sorry bro, i didnt remember that he was. So i take it that all the trucks as far as lease do not come with a apu?
