Yeah, and what does the wife say about that?

Hubby wanted them off there, he thinks they are tacky, since he has the REAL thing.

LOL, I'm trashy like that what can I say.

I have done alot of custom motorcycle painting, including crotch rockets with all of the vinyl stickers. I always use the hair dryer / heat gun. You have to get a good feel for it and don't get to far ahead of yourself. If you get it to hot it stretches and breaks. After a few tries you will figure it out and it will peel right off. The rubber wheel work decent but sometimes it leavs alot of residue and you can burn the paint if you stay in one place to long.
-
you can also get a can of decal remover and wd40 will remove the resedue and a little bit of rubbing compound were the decal was and you will never know they where there
hiardryer works well unless they are old -
well I can report fuzies recomendation of wd40 is a good one. but only if you take it off right away. I have some lettering that was removed before I bought the truck and it is al dried up and hard and the wd40 won't cut it
-
Just let it soak in and hit it again, It helps if you are not in a big hurry.
-
I soaked it down the whole time I was taking the others off. I got some of it off but not all. it's getting hot now, you gotta get out early around here
-
Ya might have to get out the elbow grease, I had the same problem with mine but it worked out. Just took some time

Hey MM, run down to Napa. They make a decal remover in a spray can. Spray it on, and rub it around a little bit. It will break up the old residue/glue. It will smear it around and just look like crap, but then you follow it up with mineral spirits or wd40 to clean it off. Thats what I did on both of those old KWs that I bought. I know that it is two steps, but thatis thebest way I know to get that old glue and residue off. And BTW, that is after you take the decals off with heat(heat gun/blow dryer).
