The End Dump is definitely different than a van tailer. The first time you put it up is kinda freaky. Seeing your trailer 30 feet in the air can be a bit unnerving, especially coming from tank trailers where that would be a worst case scenario. As jpracer1 said, if something feels unsafe or just "not right" stop and review the situation.

Every single Oakley driver I have met has been very friendly and more than willing to help you and answer any questions you may have. You will follow your trainer's taillights for the first week or until you feel comfortable. End dump isn't really complicated, but just like everything else, safety is in the details. I had a little fun with my wife before I came to Oakley, I put on youtube videos of end dumps flipping over.

PS- Mud Flaps... make sure you pull your mud flaps BEFORE dumping. Trust me when I say that digging through a pile of rock to retrieve your mud flap is not how you want to spend your Tuesday morning.

I plan on going home on weekends, but coming out of orientation I just wanted to run and learn. My dispatcher says I can do 2500mi to 2800mi and still be home and I know that will vary. This is the first weekend I've stayed out in at least 2 yrs. Do you usually stay out?

I'm home every weekend and I'm averaging 2,500 miles per week.
