This is a real specific question that's killing me.
I'm supposed to start taking the Golden Gate Bridge, Northbound, after using the San Mateo Bridge to cut out the expense of toll on the Richmond Bridge.

    3 bridge crossings, 1 toll.

Does anyone have any experience with an ideal route from 101 Northbound to the Golden Gate on a 53' trailer?

I ran circles around there in straight trucks, but the signs that say "King pin @40' trucks not advised" are breaking my nerve.

Do I just take the 101 freeway to Van Ness and jam on down Lombard St like I'm used to doing?

Its been awhile but coming south across golden gat as soon as you cross the bridge all trucks must be in right lane and exit and it takes you over to 101 and fwy. But I dont remember name of it. Its been several years since I crossed the golden gate

Thanks! I'm hoping for a straight shot. I'd be very upset if I had to take Broadway to Van mess. I'm also not looking forward to that freaking hill that leads to Waldo tunnel.....and those idiot drivers in the right lane.....causing traffic jams because the vist point is full....
Oh no! The memories! This is a horrible plan!

I took this exact route with a 275" wheelbase tractor and 48' spread axle trailer. There is nothing even remotely tight about that route. There are 3 left turn lanes from van ness to Lombard if I remember correctly so stay to the right and you will be fine.

Great! I'll just stick to my old SF delivery strategy then! That really helps!

What were you doing before? Taking the bay bridge out of the city and then richmond back to the 101?

Yep. This job was handed to me 'as is' with a set route and schedule.
Old driver quit, boss put me through CDL school, and the rest has just been a wild ride and a lot of awkwardly practicing my backing skills in empty lots.

I don't get a GPS, so I have to ask advice the old fashioned way.

Yeah I would just take Van Ness to Lombard way definitely the path of least resistance.

You could always buy your own but it would probably be pointless because I would never trust a GPS in a big city.
