truckers path tell you if the weight station is open or closed

Yeah but that depends on the input from other drivers. Someone could post wrong information or the information could be days or minutes old.

 

I love Truckers Path Pro and yes it does reply on input from others but it seems to be working for me. It even shows you where Walmart stores are located too and parking availability at truck stops and rest areas.

So you use a app while driving?

 

Well of course not... I PrePlan which weigh stations I am going to have to stop at from the beginning of the trip...

 

Supposedly the DOT people have the same app and can easily mark it closed when it is open. I've never checked to see if that is ever happening.

 

On Friday after I got loaded I was debating to go out of route to scale, since there was no scales on my way before the weigh station. I kept checking the Trucker Path and it constantly was showing Closed status. I decided to scale and not take chances.
When I pulled to Weigh Station it was opened and the trooper gave me a level 2. Right after he finished he went back to the scale house and pulled over the next truck. Basically he was there by himself and was pulling over truck after truck, keeping the station closed while he was doing the inspection. That's why all the passing trucks were reporting it as closed.

 

It's definitely not a perfect system but it does give me an idea especially on the major highways. If you use the stats tab and look at the history on that particular weight station usually have a pretty good idea.

 

I use it while I drive. Don't be so naive.

 

I wish it was a subscription app. Might cut down on some of the trash/false information and provide a better service.

Don't be so fool as to think scale masters don't know about it.
