We've had T-Mobile for years.
I had Verizon for my broadband for a few years but I've since moved that to T-Mobile as well.
Verizon's coverage can't be beat, as others have said. But they are very expensive.
T-Mobile coverage isn't quite as good, but it has been getting better. I'm seldom without a 4G signal now.
The 20GB data plan with Verizon cost me $120 per month, but I now have 20GB with T-Mobile for $40.
I can go a few days a month with a slow connection to save that kind of money.
And now, with T-Mobile, streaming services like Netflix do not count against my data.

On Verizon here as we have a good family plan with them and they do have good coverage. They drop a lot of calls out west, not sure why that is, but I normally have signal to make the call and the redial.
Looking at T-Mobile for a data plan.
Verizon has coverage but I don't need that for data... Just go without until I have signal once again... and save some money along the way. -
Walmart Family Mobile. Cheaper than most. Only dead spot I found is 275 in KY

Mine would be rather hard to find.
We are on a family plan that allows up to 11 lines.
I use 4 of those lines for data only, and they are limited to 5GB each.
Each of those lines cost $10 per month.
So I have 4 SIM cards, which I swap in the mobile hot spot device as needed.
But the plan itself is very good.
Using 10 of the lines (4 for data only as I said) we are spending about $240 per month.
All of the phones get 10GB per month of high speed data and unlimited everything else.
And it's best to go in to a T-Mobile store to speak directly with the sales people.
One of the people knew enough to get me that good deal on the data lines, while it never showed up looking at the plan details on the internet.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -

Verizon has the best footprint. Haven't any knowing about the WM phone service, but you know they didn't build a network, they're paying rent on somebody else's towers and transmitters. My older son likes ATT but he's in San Diego and doesn't have my usage patterns.
About Verizon money? When I started with them (was with T-Mobile, not good coverage) Verizon had a sale going; they wanted $250/ea for Samsung S4 units w/2 year contract. We needed 2. So I just thought, "why not see what Best Buy wants?" Yup. 2 new Samsung S4 units, free with 2 year contract! So I got in cheap. For a year I paid more than T-Mobile, but Verizon gave me an Elipsis 7 tablet, $.99, no new contract. It works great as a mobile hotspot so I can get my laptop online almost always. Very useful. Now, I upped my data plan, and for some reason my monthly cost is just a little less than 1/2 of the original plan, no contract extension.
If you're thinking Verizon is expensive, call them and talk about what you can do to reduce your cost. I got great service from them and only pay $133/month for 2 phones, 2 tablets, 12g data, unlimited talk/text. I'm a satisfied customer. And their signal coverage is very strong, even in Montana.Grijon Thanks this. -
Verizon in the US and Taco Bell in Mexico.

Yep.
At the time their 4gLTE was nonexistent and 3g was unusable.
I was on roaming more than I was on their own network. And anytime I complained about the speed (or lack thereof) the answer was always, well it's our partner network.
Supposedly they have improved. But wouldn't try again if they paid me instead.
