I do have a noon apt for tommorrow but it's kraft so I won't really be loaded till 2 am , but the other guy if 8 hours is all the longer he has had to wait he clearly has never picked up a meat load . Prime likes those 3 day windows wich is fine till they dispatch you on it 24 hours before the start of the 3 day windowNavigatorWife and genjock Thank this.

I have a friend in WA who's been driving for May since we both went through CDL school. He seems to like it alot but they pay isn't the greatest. Prime seems like a good choice if you're looking for better pay but be prepared to drive SLOW. In almost 9 years on the road I have yet to hear a single good thing about Western Express. Unless you're a felon, then Western's for you.
genjock Thanks this. -
Just so it's clear prime isn't any slower than any ther mega on the road thier company trucks are governed at 62 mph
genjock Thanks this. -
That's only partly true. Most Prime trucks ARE slower than the majority of the other "megas" out there, and by choice to boot. I can say roughly 2/3 of trucks that I pass in MY 62 mph governed truck are Prime trucks doing between 55 and 57 (according to my OnGuard). I understand Prime has some sort of incentive to drive slower for better mpg... in my opinion driving that slow on the interstate creates a hazard. And it's the same hazard I feel I'm creating when I'm cruising at my governed max of 62 on a 75 mph highway. At least I can say I'm doing the best I can.freightwipper Thanks this.

I disagree the trucks out there running on top of their govener at 62 64 and 65 all drag racing and plugging up lanes are a much larger hazard than any truck cruising along at 55. If someone driving slow in front of you is a hazard it is only because you weren't paying close enough attention to see them early

Friend used to work for May, he did 21 days on, 4 days off, about midway through that second day they would start calling him, equipment was an issue at times, he was not allowed to do even the simplest of repairs, needed a couple of lights fixed, they sent him to a TA for the repair. 3 hrs later, he had just enough time left to find a parking space and take his 10. Then they dinged him for being 2 hrs late on his delivery.
Issue I have with Prime, all they run are super singles, I've seen more super single trucks spin out on icy roads, than those running duals. About a month back, watched two prime trucks, both running 55, loose it and jackknife on I-76 because of black ice, in an area where everyone else was going 65, only thing that was different was the super singles. Also, most Prime trucks carry cable chains in the winter, be prepared to sit, as not all states allow cable chains.
Western Express, I'm going to agree with everyone else's comments, and add one more. Back in 2007, had a W.E. driver not paying attention almost take my mirror off with his trailer door. When I asked for his info so I could turn it into my company, he went off on me about "what did I care, it was a company truck, let the company worry about it, blah, blah, blah". Considering his truck looked like crap, that spoke volumes about his comments and attitude. I still got his truck and trailer number, we reported it to W.E., they paid the $300 for the mirror mount covers. -
Super singles suck but you are wrong about prime issuing cables they only issue cables for the trailer which is legal in all states ,
Oh and prime makes every driver pay for their own chains and cables -
Why would you pay for something the company is responsible to provide? I can understand this if they provide one set and the driver tears it up or looses it, but from the start?
