Because nobody knows this job like we do. The good, the bad, and the ugly is all shared by us. It's also pretty frigging sweet running through small towns and you see little kids stop what their doing and look at you roll by.
I'm a bit of a show off, I love backing in front of people and dumping it in any spot on the first shot. The days I miss, I get it in and jump out the truck like a psychopath arks flailing and screaming how the government moved the lines on me.
Loaded to 80+ of a South American crop, loaded heavy as a brick and you mashing the throttle next to a company mega driver at a stop light.
Grabbing gears up and down. When you grab all gears down without grinding you say to yourself "####, I'm good".
The list goes on and on. I tried to be funny, but I take my job seriously and I ####ing love driving a big truck.
Always have since the day I was born, dad put me in the cab of his Mack, started it and I screamed bloody murder at the straight pipes. Haha.
What is your favorite thing about driving a truck?

Personally,
I came from a town that was so small if you looked both ways you could see it all. All I wanted was some way out and every evening I'd sneak into town to stand around by the caution light and watch the big trucks rolling by. It was a beautiful sight. I had a case of wanderlust. I'd lie awake with the windows up and out on Hwy 59 you could hear those big old diesels whine, going through all the gears and headed out to who knows where. I fell asleep every night dreaming of big wheels in the moonlight.

Sun shining, dry pavement, running up through the gears with a fully loaded trailer behind, listening to that single-turbo CAT motor whistle and groan. That I can never tire of. Ever.
Second to that would probably be running a perfect downshift/jake brake stop to a light on the highway, then rolling through, passing all the four wheelers stuck in the left lane, and having not touched the clutch or brake pedal once.Last edited: Mar 4, 2016

That's totally what it reminds me of though. I prefer to let people just be themselves. Judgement uses up way more energy than I'd like. Almost as much as being a jerk to people. There are so many other, better ways to burn those calories, nome sane?BiH and scottlav46 Thank this.

Amen sister that's probably why I like doin what I'm doin. Why a lot of us like it. With the right gig we are free to succeed or fail, it's up to us. I love having my income be predicated on my activities, n not someone else's.
As I'm reading what I typed I am thinkin I'm makin a hash outta what I'm tryina say, but I'm too lazy to rework it
