They run 5 frequency's in Cali that I know of. Depends what direction your running and what part in Cali your in. 15, 17, 19, 21 and 7 for español. It's all confusing, just like CARB.

I have personally talked to newbreed drivers that have told me that they have no interest in putting a CB in there truck.

I have spoken to old school drivers who have removed their cb radios from their trucks and have no intentions of replacing them. Consequently, I'm not sure what your point is. The lack of a cb radio is not strictly limited to "new breed" drivers. That mentality is beginning to make its way across the entire spectrum of drivers.

Not too many years ago, there was a loose effort, heck, maybe just a rumor, to ban cb radios in commercial vehicles. It didn't gain the momentum needed to be successful. All the government has to do is wait. Yes, bide their time and the drivers will not have cb radios in the trucks simply as a matter of choice, not law. As the "old schoolers" die off or are forced to retire due to health-related issues, the "new breed" replaces them and as you stated, those drivers are making the choice not to have them. Those new drivers are coming complete with technology like satellite radios, mp3 players, cell phones, tablets, and GPS units and are capable of streaming Pandora, iHeartRadio, etc that allow the driver to pass the time, instead of a cb radio. Many of those devices are capable of showing traffic in real time and give alerts on congestion while simultaneously giving alternate routes with just one press of a button. And, they are able to gather all of this information without speaking the first word to another person.

Well good for you, I have never met a old school driver that took his radio out, it's a tool that drivers use. You seem offended with the term " Newbreed" you should not let your emotions get in the way of reality, all those electric toys that you mentioned will not broadcast instant highway info the way a CB does.

I take no offense to anything you said. That term was being given to drivers 30 years ago. Broadcast the information all you want but it is falling on deaf ears as your audience is no longer the majority but instead, the minority.

Google maps has live traffic. Too many ignorant people on the cb, gave mine away the first year I started driving and have been perfectly fine without it knock on wood

I've been driving a truck for 10 years, never ran without a CB. There's been times that CB has saved my life and/or someone else's. A lot of drivers choose not to run one, but the way I was raised, it's more of a tool. Each their own right? Lol
